Claire Elise Boucher (bu:'SeI/booSHAY) was born on March 17, 1988. She is known as Grimes. [2][3] The range of her music from the beginning has been called "lo the fi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". Her music has used elements from hip-hop electronic, rock and hip hop. The lyrics of her songs often address feminist and science fiction themes. Five studio albums have been issued by her. Growing up in Vancouver (later relocated to Montreal), Grimes began making music for herself in the late 2000s, releasing two albums, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa which were released in 2010, with Arbutus Records. The album was released in 2012 and Visions the third album she released on her studio. The band was signed to 4AD. Visions is comprised of the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion" that was awarded"the" Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in 2015. It received high praise from reviewers and numerous newspapers voted for it to be the best album of the year. In 2020, she debuted Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Aside from music, Grimes had a voice character in the 2020 action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the competition for musicians game program Alter Ego.
